Hasan Yıldırım / Istanbul, Aug 10 () – Following the bomb car attack in Istanbul city’s Sultanbeyli district at Fatih Police Station , police teams has launched an operation at an address in the district.
After the attack ten people including three police officers has been wounded. Following the attack, in the morning assailants opened gunfire over the investigation team. Two terrorists were captured dead, while a chief of police died.
Police has engaged in clashes with the attackers. Beyazıt Çeken, Director of the bomb disposal team, was murdered during these clashes.
Istanbul city has woken up to a series of violent attacks. Two attackers, a man and a woman, have opened fire on the U.S. consulate building in Istanbul’s Sarıyer district on Aug. 10. The suspects have fled after police’s counter fire. The female suspect has been captured injured in an apartment where she was hiding, and was carried on a strecher to be hospitalized.
Turkey has been at the center of a state of security alert particularly after the Suruç massacre on July 20 and deadly PKK attacks, including air strikes against Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) militants in Syria and the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants in northern Iraq.
