Ankara, Aug 4 () - The Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) and Peoples' Democratic Congress (HDK) Components have made a statement urging a “mutual ceasefire” and a “rollback to talks” for the peace bid that is at crossroads amid epidemic of violence and security tension across Turkey.
After their meeting, the components declared, “We commemorate the 31 socialist young people who have lost their lives in Suruç massacre, as well as relatives of the 10 villagers who have been left killed Zergele village and enounce that we will continue the fight until the links behind this massacre are revealed and the justice is secured. We will not allow the government to pin the crime of this massacre on the HDP, even on the young people in Suruç”.
The HDK’s statement also read, “the provisional Justice and Development Party (AKP) government seeks to be converted into a permanent de facto government, over the declaration of war by the presidential palace. With Erdoğan’s declaration, the hopes for peace have been oppressed once again, while political rights and freedom have been suspended. The policy of the AKP will fail, which disclaims the outcome of the July 7 elections, looking to batter the HDP and ignore the demand for peace of our peoples."
