Akif Arıcı / Antalya, July 21 () – The body of Australian YPG (Fighters from People's Protection Units) member Reece Harding, who died in Kobane while fighting ISIL (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant), was sent back to his country from the southern Turkey’s Antalya Airport on July 21, carried on shoulders of people in a convoy of HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Party) members.

Having joined the YPG in Kobane bordering Syria to fight against ISIL, 24-years-old Harding has died in an explosion in the region, on July 1st. Harding’s body was brought firstly to Mardin through the Syria border and then to Antalya overland.

In company with the HDP’s convoy shouting “Kobane will become ISIL’s grave” slogans, Australian YPG member’s body was handed over to the Airport’s cargo after a stand in silence.

Some of the women in the convoy were crying while some of the men were making victory signs, local reporters said.
