Şanlıurfa, July 22 () - The outlawed PKK claimed responsibility for the murder of two police officers in district of in Şanlıurfa province, striked by a deadly blast having killed 32 young protesters on July 20.

The police officers were killed in revenge of Suruç massacre, said in a statement appeared on an internet site close to the armed branch of the group, blaming the Turkish police to collaborate with the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL).

Police officers Feyyaz Yumuşak (24) and Okan Acar (25) were found dead at home where they were staying together, having been shot to the head and killed in Ceylanpınar district of Şanlıurfa, according to the provincial government.

Governor İzzettin Küçük has said the police officers, who were working as riot police, were found dead, adding that they were not aware of any terrorist involvement in the incident and an investigation had been opened into the unidentified men’s deaths, on early July 22.

Police officers Yumuşak and Acar were affiliated to Ceylanpınar Directorate of Security Anti-terror Branch in Şanlıurfa. Ceylanpınar is close to Suruç district of Şanlıurfa, where 32 young members of the Federation of Socialist Youth Associations (SGDF) who had gathered in a culture center of Suruç district of the province to help rebuild Kobane, had been killed and over 100 had been left wounded, after a suspected ISIL bomb attack on July 20.

Ceylanpınar has been severely affected by fighting between rival factions across the border in Syria.
