Hayati Kılıç - Çağatay Kenarlı - Soner Hasırcıoğlu / Istanbul, Aug 10 () - Hours later than the bomb attack over police station in Turkey’s Istanbul city at around 01.00 on Aug 10, assailant or assailants opened gunfire over police investigation teams while they were exploring the scene in the morning. A citizen was wounded in the arm over the attack.
In Istanbul’s Sultanbeyli district, a blast has erupted at police station on Petrolyolu Street at a bomb car attack. After the attack ten people including three police officers were wounded. Security officials announced that one offender in the bomb vehicle also died.
The attack has occurred around 01.00 am on Aug 10 at Fatih Police Station in the district, wounding seven people while they were applying for their missing ones. The causalities have been hospitalized for treatment in the district’s hospitals.
The blast has caused a partial collapse in the police station building, along with material damage on many vehicles and buildings in the area.
Special operations teams have taken security measures, while backing police teams have been deployed to the scene. The roads reaching the police station were blocked, and people were deported from the area. Police helicopter has launched air investigations.
Istanbul Police Headquarters made a statement later on Aug 10, declaring that a deputy police chief, two police officers and seven citizens have been lightly wounded, after the bomb car attack.
