Adnan Çelebi / Niğde, Sep 7 () – An endemic frog kind that doesn’t crock, the endangered Taurus Frogs (Rana Holtzi) attracts foreinger and domestic tourists’ attention in Karagöl and Çiniligöl areas located on Bolkar Mountains in Ulukışla district of Central Anatolian province of Niğde.

The “tongue-died” frogs that live over 2,500- 3,000 meters altitude are around 6-7.5 centimeters long and its originality comes from its “interior vocal sac” and deep silence.

“They have a soft, flat and thin skin, with yellow, dark green and pinkish traits. Near their heads, temporal strips. The male frogs have an interior vocal sac and they don’t crock as other frogs do” said Niğde Culture and Tourism Manager Hüseyin Demirtaş, adding that the “endemic” species are under protection.

The wow of slience of these frogs keep attracting tourists, climbers and nature discoverers.
