Hasan Kırmızıtaş – Reşit Çelebioğlu / Kilis, Nov 20 () - Clashes continue between the opposition groups of Army of Conquest and Islamic State (IS) militants, across the Turkey- Syria border near the southeastern province of Kilis.
On early Nov. 20, the clashes shook Soran, Savran, Havar and Harcelli villages, on the “Mare line” of Syria across Seve and Akıncılar villages of Turkey’s Kilis province.
Meanwhile, coalition forces have launched air operations over the IS targets in few-kilometers-distance to the border.
During the clashes, which have escalated at times, IS targets were hit by coalition air forces, with respect to security intelligence gathered through the drones, exploratory aircrafts and intelligence units patrolling over the region.
The IS has seized the region between Jarablus and Azaz across the Turkey-Syria border line, facing Turkish provinces of Gaziantep and Kilis.
The Army of Conquest have hindered the IS efforts to seize Azaz for several times, a region under control of Army of Conquest, while several clashes and blasts have raised concerns in the Turkey side of the border.
In the last two weeks, recent clashes and the US-led coalition’s air operations have broken the partial silence at the border line.
Residents in the Turkey side have heard the sounds of clashes and blasts, while the smoke have risen from the northern Syrian villages.
Over the revived security concerns in Kilis, security measures have been boosted at the border line.
