Hasan Kırmızıtaş / Gaziantep, Nov 4 () - In southeastern province of Gaziantep, nine people have been arrested within separate IS (Islamic State) police operations, which prevented the alleged suicide attack plans of the militants over a political party headquarter in Istanbul, according to a statement released by the Gaziantep Governorate.

Two IS members have been neutralized after having disobeyed the stop warning of police and thrown grenade over police, triggered the dawn-operations.

This was followed by simultaneous operations at seven different locations, which led to detainment of seven suspects.

The Anti-terror branch found around 8 grams of explosives, four grenades, one bomb set-up, four pistols, 135 cartridges, along with 9,755 dollars, 10 thousand liras, some computers, sim cards, mobile phones.

The police teams also seized certain notes identified as information on the headquarters of the daily Cumhuriyet in Ankara and Istanbul.

Suicide bomb attack plans at party HQ

The militants have been set to organize a suicide bomb attack over a political party’s headquarter in Istanbul, according to instructions of IS managers in Syria.

While the nine suspects were announced to be sent to penal institution, the Gaziantep Governorate told the outlawed IS members were seeking to create a chaotic atmosphere prior to the Nov. 2 general elections.

Investigations continue to decipher the militants and spot their relations through the network of the outlawed IS.
