Sadık Üçtepe – Akif Özdemir / Adana, Nov 9 () - In southeastern province of Adana, some 38 people were caught under the suspect of attempting to join the Islamic State (IS) in Syria, along with two people of Turkish origin who has fixed up their accommodation.
The anti-terror branch teams have launched operation following a tip-off that a large number of foreigners have been residing in a house located in central Başakşehir neighborhood.
Some 14 suspects from Azerbaijan, seven from Indonesia, five from Iraq, five from Kirgizstan, two from Tajikistan, three from Iran and two from Afghanistan were captured over the operation, including children.
Meanwhile, two Turkish citizens were detained accused of having helped the suspects.
The IS suspects having been taken to the forensic walked up to press members while covering the operation.
Following the procedures, the foreigners were set to be deported from the country, having been sent to provincial directorate for migration management in Adana.
H.Ö. and İ.G. , accused of arranging the accommodation of the group, have been under ongoing interrogations, said local reports.
