Ali Ruhluel / Nicosia, Nov 24 () – Terror alarm has been declared in Cyprus due to intelligence that “suspects linked to Islamic and radical organizations have entered the country”.
According to police sources, a group including five people of Turkish origin, one Algerian and six French citizens have landed onto Larnaca town in southern Cyprus, with an Easy Jet Airlines flight from Basel city of Switzerland, on late Nov. 21.
Greek intelligence in talks with INTERPOL, Europol
Police detained some of the suspects due to lack of information confirming their visit’s touristic purposes, while others were detained under taken measures.
Meanwhile, Greek intelligence sources have been holding talks with INTERPOL and Europol.
Greek media claimed these suspects have been in attempt to cross into Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus on Nov. 21-24.
