Istanbul, Nov 5 () - The “tight monetary policy stance” will be maintained until there is a “significant improvement” in the inflation outlook, stressed Erdem Başçı, Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey.
Having delivered a presentation on “Balanced Growth Prospects in Turkey” at Ekonomik Yaklaşım Journal International Congress on Economics II on November 5 in Ankara, Governor Başçı defined the current monetary policy stance as “tight against the inflation outlook, stabilizing for the FX liquidity, and supportive of financial stability”.
Accordingly, the improvement in the current account balance will continue, announced Başçı.
“The rising demand in Europe supports growth and rebalancing. The implementation of the announced structural reforms would contribute to the potential growth significantly” emphasized the Central Bank Governor.
