Kırşehir, Oct 19 () - Camera recordings that has been recently released showed the violent attack of a furious mob against a 30-year-old bookstore in Central Anatolian province of Kırşehir, within protests against terror attacks.
According to police camera recording, the Gül Bookstore is plundered, pelted by stones and set on fire, while one of the owners of the bookstore is nearly lynched by the group.
26 released, 4 jailed
On Sep. 8, a group protesting raising terror attack have vandalized the store, books and other materials, while the staff have ran upstairs to hide themselves, as dozens chanted slogans and damaged property, within violent protest.
As four shops were set on fire and 13 shops were damaged, 30 people were detained. Four people among the mob were jailed, charged of “abetting people to hatred and hostility”. Meanwhile 24 people were released by the court pending a trial and two people were released by judicial control decision.
