Istanbul, Oct 12 () - Turkey’s renowned actor Levent Kırca, 67 years old, died of liver cancer following months of chemotherapy, on early Oct. 12 in Istanbul.
Having appeared in numerous plays and movies, Levent Kırca was particularly known for the famous satirical TV sketch called “Olacak O Kadar”, aired for 22 years, where the Turkish people’s problems were treated in a satirical and comedic way.
Kırca was under treatment for liver cancer in Marmara University Hospital in Istanbul since July.

The actor has also left a letter saying goodbye, where he said, “Stand tall… Be just, be patient, let your energy to spread. Hope to meet you in a better world. Stay with Atatürk, with the Republic. Good bye…”
The prominent comedian, born in 1948 in Turkey’s Black Sea province of Samsun, Kırca has got on the stage professionally at the Ankara State Theater in 1964. His career was followed by the “Olacak O Kadar” series, leaving a mark in the public’s life.
Kırca was also a columnist critical of the political tension in recent years, and member to the central decision board of a political party.
