Nafiz Albayrak / New York, Aug 24 () - U.S. State Department Spokesperson John Kirby stated that the negotiation talks with Turkey regarding operations against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) have not been concluded yet and efforts to finalize technical details continued.

Turkey’s FM Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu had declared the technical talks with U.S. have been finalized and the inclusive operations were about to be launched in near future. However Spokesperson Kirby, having responded a reporter’s question on this matter, told, “I wouldn’t push back on the notion that we’ve concluded discussions, but we’re finalizing technical details now as a result of that”.

Having spoken at a press conference in Washington, Kirby added that with respect to Turkey’s Air Tasking Order (ATO), U.S. has not launched ATO flying missions because U.S. had asked Turkey not to do in order to properly coordinate their air operations, and Turkey had given green light.

Following a question on “the pressure of Turkey’s President (Tayyip) Eroğan for a snap election” Kirby told he was not going to talk specifically about internal matters inside Turkey and they would keep work with the Turkish Government going forward, while watching closely the developments in the country.

Having responded to a reporter’s question that of “There has been an increasing authoritarianism in Turkey. So as the U.S. Government, you take this question as an internal matter?” Kirby told that he had answered the question already and he would leave it at that point, sluding around the question.
